So Much To Do – So Little Time
The good news is that we live in a world of infinite possibilities and opportunities. The bad news is that all these options and opportunities to get overwhelming and can not be asked to do anything.
Often when I am with my clients or (being totally transparent here), so to speak, looking at my own desk, I have a feeling of drowning in a pool of options and pending tasks.
Different people have different reactions to all options. Since there are so many things that my clients and I either want or feel they “should” do, sometimes we are creating one of these “brain dump” lists, all of our brain and in one place. I wish I could just wave a magic wand and have everything in my “brain dump” list, but I can not because the reality is that we are only 24 hours a day.
It might be different if the list has been stalled, but it is not. Somehow, the universal law of the task list seems to be even more than they could highlight. If you try everything, everything that makes it have to do is to enter a race against time that will never win and you feel overwhelmed, frustrated, and ultimately unproductive.
Second, are there things on my list of tasks that have hung forever? Why are these things on my list? Is it really a big difference if hinbekommen? Three of the things on my to-do list, which I will give the greatest return on investment of my time and effort. For example, which generate more income, have the greatest impact on their clients, or help you sleep better at night?
(Caution: Do not do this big task is impossible to have them at the time you have available, to break the overall task feasible in a few steps)
If you go to some of the tasks on your list and have not done anything, give yourself permission to focus all their attention on the important things they can do.
